Letter: Carlton House crow rescued

Carlton House resident Jocelyn Ney saw a young crow fall into the pond near the entrance

When walking out the front door of Carlton House a couple of days ago, Carlton House resident Jocelyn Ney saw a young crow fall into the pond near the entrance and noted that the crow’s parents were unable to recover their babe.

Jocelyn promptly went over and reached in and pulled the young crow out of the pond. The babe had passed out by this time and was not moving.

Jocelyn then quickly went back into Carlton House where they immediately phoned the B.C. S.P.C.A. who told them to put the babe in a small box, place it under a quiet nearby tree, leave it there and the mother and father crow would come and get it.

This they did and within a short while, the parents came and got their babe and all was well.

Well done to Carlton House resident Jocelyn Ney who by her prompt action produced a happy ending to what could have been a very tragic story.
