Dear editor,
Good on the City of Courtenay for engaging the community in planning for the future.
It is certainly a good idea to know where you are going and how to get there.
And it is a good idea to get input from all the people potentially impacted by the plan.
I only wish that this kind of planning was on a Valley-wide level.
All the plans so far apply only to the area within the city boundaries, which, when you think of it, are just imaginary lines drawn by a bureaucrat in Victoria a hundred years ago.
A hundred years ago, it was a long way from Courtenay to Comox or to Cumberland.
Now, we are all next door to each other.
It’s time to get together to develop a single plan for the whole Comox Valley.
Erik Eriksson,
Courtenay
