Letter: Does city council hear the opposition?

If there is such a public outcry, why wouldn’t the city just call for a referendum to settle this controversy once and for all?

To the editor:

What part of the opposition to location of the new tourist information centre does mayor and council not understand?

If there is such a public outcry, why wouldn’t the city just call for a referendum to settle this controversy once and for all?

I, for one, along with many others, disagree with the plans and suggested location.

With the new hotel going up at Kerry Park, and the proximity to the existing downtown businesses along with existing information kiosk and City Hall so close by, tourists have plenty of sources for attaining information.

I say referendum. Let the people speak.
