It is with great sadness that we have decided to dissolve the Boundary Dog Sled Association.
It became apparent at the last board meeting that most of the key directors of the association are moving on with their lives and no longer have the time to devote to be able to put together a huge undertaking like the Boundary Dog Sled Classics Sprint Races.
Since nobody stepped forward at the annual general meeting in April to pick up the reins, we had to make the hard decision to dissolve the association.
After much deliberation it was decided that the funds left in the bank account after paying off any outstanding bills were equally distributed between local associations with a focus on animals.
The recipients were the Grand Forks and District Fall Fair, the Boundary Multi 4-H club, the Boundary Horse Association, the Boundary C 4-H Club (Rock Creek), the Boundary Sheep 4-H Club and the Rock Creek Fall Fair.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to everybody who donated their time, money and support to us over the years. We hope to revive the dog races in the future.
Ruth Sims, Boundary Dog Sled Association
