LETTER: Donations are much appreciated

They generously donate a large bag of baked goods, twice per week, each and every week, to the Christine Morrison Hospice.

I am writing this letter to let the community of Mission know that COBS Bakery in Mission is more than just a place that produces wonderful baked goods, they are also very generous and community-minded.

More specifically, they generously donate a large bag of baked goods (scones, apricot bread, and the like) twice per week, each and every week, to the Christine Morrison Hospice.

These delicious treats are given to the families and friends visiting residents at CMH, and to the nurses and doctors who enjoy them during a quick coffee break.

Being able to offer some delicious baked goods along with tea and coffee to a family visiting with their loved ones who have a terminal illness helps bring a semblance of normalcy, and a degree of comfort, into their lives, which are otherwise highly abnormal and extremely stressful because of the terminal illness.

As a hospice volunteer we get many compliments from the visitors and residents about these baked goods. I thought the rest of Mission should be made aware of what a wonderful community-minded business COBS Bakery is.

They are more than just good bakers; they are good people who selflessly do good for others.
