Letter: Editorial criticizes all Americans

Being critical of Mr. Trump's election results is also being critical of our American relatives and friends.

To the editor:

RE: Kathy Michaels editorial

I am reading Kathy Michaels’ editorial in complete disgust. (American Election Should be Viewed as a Warning to Canadians, Nov. 11 Kelowna Capital News)

She is very critical of President-elect Trump with a lot of expressions that appear to sound like ‘hate literature’ with so much anger being displayed.

She is grossly exaggerating the facts with a lot of accusations that have not been proven to be truthful.

Being so critical of Mr. Trump is also being critical of American peoples that have elected Mr. Trump in a democratic election.

Americans must have had many good reasons to cast their ballots for Mr. Trump and to give the Republican Party such a large majority.

Mr. Trump is not necessarily my favourite person but I give him full credit for his win as the president of United States of America.

Also, many Canadians have relatives and friends living in the USA and being critical of Mr. Trump’s election results is also being critical of our American relatives and friends.

I am surprised Capital News would allow her editorial to be printed in their newspaper.
