LETTER: Enforce bike helmet laws, Langley man writes

COVID-19 has more people out riding bikes but too many aren't wearing helmets, a local man says

Dear Editor,

Why are so many riding bicycles not wearing a helmet in Langley? B.C. has a law clearly stating bicycle riders must wear a helmet at all times.

With COVID-19 there has been a huge increase in the number of people riding a bicycle. It’s disturbing to see families riding where kids have helmets on, but not the parents. Terrible example for their children.

Too many adult riders out bareheaded needing a reminder to put a helmet on.

Who is responsible for enforcing this law?

It would seem to be not happening and needs to.

The law is there for the protection of the bicycler, same as for compulsory wearing of seat belts in cars.
