LETTER: Fructova museum a gem to see

The Boundary Fructova Museum on Reservoir Road in Grand Forks is a hidden gem.

Editor:

I would like to bring the community’s attention to the setup, displays and history found inside the local Boundary Fructova Museum located on Reservoir Road.

I was raised at Christina Lake and have resided in Grand Forks for 25 years now and, like a lot of people in the valley, I have driven by this heritage building many times but never stopped there until recently.

I was very impressed with their displays and all the history, from Phoenix to Christina Lake, including the millionth B.C. claim staked by Ralph Wolverton, who I personally grew up knowing at Christina Lake.

So for those of you who haven’t visited this historical museum, do so. If you have visitors this summer, send them up there to see some of our history, including downtown Grand Forks and the flood that covered most of downtown.

The museum is open seven days a week, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; if you want any information, contact Sue Adrain or Wendy Bedard at 442-3737. They are doing a great job up there.
