A strange (and frustrating) thing happened last weekend.
The City of Penticton didn’t seem to know what was happening this weekend. Some roads have been closed since Friday, and buses rerouted, because of the car show.
It’s unfortunate that the City didn’t know there was a car show this weekend (I think it’s annual), because then they could have notified the bus drivers and the transit users of these route changes. Maybe, they could put a notice at the bus stops where normal service won’t run Saturday and Sunday, including the expected return to normal?
Fortunately, I could check B.C. Transit’s webpage and read the “alert” for this weekend’s transit changes, but only after waiting and waiting.
Unfortunately, the elderly senior, with a walker, waiting with me, had no option but to go back home, as she couldn’t walk the extra block to catch a rerouted bus. She asked me why there was no notice posted on the bus pole.
When the city says “I Penticton,” wouldn’t it be grand if they liked all of us, not just the people and tourists with cars.
