As most senior citizens I had all the common childhood diseases and was surprised to hear all the publicity in regards to recent measles outbreaks.
I had it and wondered what the big deal was. I decided to research it and was astonished to learn of all the complications that can go along with it. You can go blind, get various types of pneumonia, acute encephalitis, which can lead to death in 3 years. It is more serious in adults which makes me glad I got my shots when they became available.
It is much more than just itchy bumps. Symptoms include, fever diarrhea, nausea, etc. and it is so contagious and can have ever lasting effects. Getting the shot may even save your life.
