LETTER: Give us some hope

If things are done right there would be no need for homelessness.

If things are done right there would be no need for homelessness. Get the disability rates and welfare up so lots can afford to live. The need of low-income housing is huge.

A lot of us don’t want to be disabled, but we are and have to accept that.  If the rates were high enough that you could pay rent and hydro then a lot of us would be so very happy, instead of budgeting so tight on a five week month. Those months are very hard. After rent and hydro you are not left with much to buy — like healthy food like the rest do — and yes, even eat three meals a day instead of one.

Please fix this problem fast, Do not talk about it, just fix it before it gets out of control and people have to move because rent is so high. Give us some hope.
