My wife and I attended the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Abbotsford on Wednesday and were pleasantly surprised at the large numbers of people in attendance.
It was gratifying to see our youth there to support, honour and acknowledge the sacrifices made on our behalf.
Today I became aware of an Abbotsford mom who in order to educate and emphasize the importance of Remembrance Day to her children (aged 7, 6 and 4), encourages them to write and draw pictures in a letter to veterans thanking them for their sacrifices.
These letters were left on vehicles in the local Legion parking lot or in Thunderbird Memorial Square. I cannot help but echo my thanks and acknowledgement to all the veterans and their families and feel secure that our youth are there to acknowledge and honour these sacrifices with us. Lest we forget.
