Letter: Hunter makes an apology

The conservation officers will treat you fair if you call (wrong target) in and then the meat will go to someone who needs it.

To the editor:

I am a hunter in the Okanagan and I was out hunting, shooting at a four-point mule deer, but I shot a three-point instead.

I did not call it in. I left it. I was reported.

I was lucky, I received fines and did not lose my gun. My fines were $1,150. If I had reported it, I would have got a small fine.

The conservation officers will treat you fair if you call it in and then the meat will go to someone who needs it.

I apologize to all the hunters in the Okanagan.

Barry Pattie,
