To the editor:
In your Tuesday, June 11 edition, a letter to the editor by Rosalie Chalmers states that: “the people of British Columbia clearly chose Christy Clark and the Liberals to lead us…”
I say Rosalie is wrong about the people choosing Christy—her own riding decided to vote against her. That is why she was shopping around for a winner to give up his/her newly won seat.
I would not be surprised if Christy lost the (byelection) vote this go around either. Personally I think the people voted for Ben (incumbent Westside-Kelowna MLA Ben Stewart) not for the Liberal party. A fair number of people have voiced this opinion.
Lastly, why would someone who won so decisively give up their seat? Could there have been a bit of an incentive dangled in front?
We will have to wait to find out, I hope she gets blown out of the water.
