Editor: Brandon Gabriel definitely spoke the truth in his letter to the Editor (the Times, Oct. 26) regarding painted crosswalks in Fort Langley. It’s a clear indication the amount of power special interest groups have over our local mayor and council.
As far as I’m concerned, we should all have a high regard towards the Kwantlen Nation in Fort Langley, show them more respect and give them more recognition than we do presently and have in the past.
How on Earth can you ever justify a painted crosswalk honouring those few in Miami when thousands of First Nations students succumbed in residential schools in care of our colonial rulers, who we celebrate yearly.
Get your priorities straight before making decisions like this.
