Letter: Langley Township, taxes and troughs

When you next elect a mayor and council remember: Township spending is out of touch with reality, writes Win Bromley.

Dear Editor,

On July 4 our southern neighbours celebrated, as we, the “jolly stupid taxpayers” of Langley Township all lined up like lemmings to pay our property taxes or else.

I am really, really ashamed to be one of you. Nobody seems to notice the emperor is buck naked.

In 2008 some of you might have noticed we had a worldwide meltdown in financial markets. We have actually not recovered to where we were wealth-wise then but our “pigs-at-the-trough” elected officials have raised our municipal taxes by almost 30 per cent (2009 to the present).

Township of Langley spending is way out of touch with reality. Please remember this when you next elect a mayor and council.

Win Bromley, Langley Township
