Dear editor,
I was unable to donate blood today because of a cold bug.
Unbeknownst to me until cancer struck a family member, cancer patients very often require blood as their immune system is trying to recover. Recently I lost a friend to cancer, a kind and gentle 50-year-old man, I miss him every day. I write this today as I think of him and feel disappointment that I must postpone my regular blood donation.
