LETTER: Loss of parking in downtown Langley City will hurt business

The City's Fraser Highway one-way redevelopment options call for fewer parking spaces.

Dear Editor,

Further to the article on reshaping the one-way of Fraser Highway, I am totally opposed to eliminating parking spaces on this stretch of road.

It is easy to say that there is plenty of underutilized parking within a short walk. On many days, every parking spot on the one-way is filled so obviously there is a need for them.

For people who are disabled, with children, only making a quick stop to drop something off at a local business, or quickly picking something up, a short walk is an irritant. Our rainy weather also has an impact on how far customers are willing to walk.

This plan will definitely have a negative impact on local business.
