To the editor:
There is nothing wrong with Kelowna. It is a great place to live (if you can afford it).
People complain about Highway 33 (Highway 33 A Road ‘Scary as Hell’, Feb. 4 Capital News.) Another complaint: “pot holes wreck our cars.”
I read where some folks even complain about people walking on roads around the university, or about contractors piling up dirt next door. Then there is the one about carriage houses, or another bridge.
We live in West Kelowna where they voted down the plug-in for electric cars. I can understand that as we only have one wire here to supply power. This would mean a possibility of blowing the fuse.
They state that street sweeping will be done soon for another year.
Have you ever tried to miss the pot holes coming from Save-on Foods? That will boggle your mind.
These are a few of the great things we have in the area, and we would really miss them if repaired correctly.
Property prices are in vogue with Vancouver prices now, although we have snow as an added feature.
But beyond this, I do like Kelowna and West Kelowna. They are fine places to live in—if you can afford it—and it adds to signs on one’s property saying “For Sale.”
