I am writing to protest the waste of building materials at our local landfill.
Our supposed “green” Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) is chipping up good 2x4s and plywood for mulch when they could be used for construction.
The RDKB claims a safety issue when scavenging but I am sure there could be a signature process for releasing them from any liability.
Our trees are dying everyday and we are wasting valuable resources.
While I do applaud the efficient job the RDKB does of running the dump, there is room for improvement. I encourage others to voice their opinion on this issue and perhaps we will see some change.
