When we moved to Mission nine years ago, one of the things that really attracted me to the town is the lovely old gardens and the gigantic old trees.
In the spring the flowering trees are spectacular. When the property next to us sold, the developer razed a beautiful garden. He told us he would plant the same number of trees he cut down, in a park.
When we drove up Cedar and saw huge old trees lying on the ground in that new development, I felt like crying. How does planting new small trees in another area replace trees that took 100 years to get to that size? Why can’t they leave a few trees instead of stripping the land
