In response to West Coast Express disabled commuters requesting more disabled parking spaces, and the district’s response, I’m wondering if something more can be done for them.
I commend those disabled persons who continue to work if they can. But some are forced to continue working because there is no other choice. Start of CPP benefits for a lot of baby boomers is now age 67 and some have to work even longer than this. Just coping with life is hard enough without additional challenges.
There are 254 parking spaces in the West Coast Express parking lot in Mission, and only five of these are for handicapped individuals. Can the district not see if eight more spots can be provided for those with valid placards and ID?
