To the editor:
We are two couples from Toronto who had heard much about Kelowna B.C. over the years and finally decided to visit your city for the long weekend.
We enjoyed exotic tea on the sidewalk of Ellis Street, fine outdoor dining at night on Sunset Drive and great Italian coffee at a patio on Water Street.
Everywhere we went, however, at any time of the day or night, all we heard was the roar of motorcycles without mufflers as they raced down these streets. It was as if we were visiting a strange hick town.
The RCMP were regularly seen but they appeared oblivious to the unnecessary noise. How disturbing this sound was. How disappointing our visit was.
Your mayor and council along with your local police have some serious work to do.
