It is thoroughly disheartening to see Oak Bay’s historic character being lost. The house at the corner of St. Patrick Street and Beach Drive that was recently moved is prominent in archival photos of the area.
Why is Oak Bay allowing such heritage to be removed or destroyed?
These houses are the fabric of this unique community and are typically being replaced by disappointing monoliths which have no regard for the character of the neighborhood.
Let’s stop the destruction before Oak Bay ends up looking like Surrey.
