This update has been prepared by some very concerned citizens.
It is Terry Feeny’s plan to build affordable rental apartments, and I think that we as citizens of Okanagan Falls should support Terry and help him get this project going.
What we need here in OK Falls are more people, not some china and vine shops. We already have enough shops in this town that are sitting empty and unrented.
I think that we need more people in OK Falls so as there will be enough people to support what we already have. Some dream of having a fancy shopping mall. It isn’t going to happen folks, I think that it is time to wake up folks. Get a petition going and let’s get things going here in the Falls.
Affordable rental places here in the valley are hard to find at the best of times. I’m sure that everyone out there knows someone who’s looking for an affordable place to rent. Terry’s idea of affordable rental housing is a solution that would help the housing crisis here in B.C.
MLA Larson recently stated, “this investment is essential in keeping our community strong by providing local seniors with affordable housing options. Seniors have worked hard to create the prosperous province we call home and I’m glad that our government’s strong fiscal management can provide the funds needed for this project.”
RDOS electoral area D Director Tom Siddon described the long overdue project as very exciting news for the community with a high demographic of older citizens. This enthusiasm was shared by members of the society, who have spent years working on this project.
These quotes were meant for another housing project located on the Legion property. Now I say let these politicians know that a housing project would look better situated on the Terry Feeny property. It being more centrally located to everything in town like walking distance of the IGA, pizza shop, post office, doctors office, hotel, drug store, Catlin’s Restaurant, credit union, library, the Legion and the many existing shops that are empty now, but would probably fill up with wine shops and china shops.
This letter comes from a very concerned citizen who has lived here for the past 40 years that has seen the many changes that have come and gone on in the community. I am ready to back Terry Feeny and sign a petition.
