LETTER: Positive things to be learned from longboarder’s death

I wish to express my thoughts regarding the publicity that was created by the tragic death of Dustin Mackenzie.

I wish to express my thoughts regarding the publicity that was created by the tragic death of Dustin Mackenzie.

Some of my friends feel that the publicity has gone too far.

I do not agree. There have been some very positive things as a result of the publicity:

– If even one youth buys and wears a helmet, there is a possibility it could save a life.

– Organ donation is a fantastic legacy for a family to bless others and help ease their pain.

– If one individual knew Dustin very well, this tragedy might be what it takes to put them on the road to eternal life.

Losing a child is a heartbreaking tragedy. I honestly feel that the way his family is dealing with their loss will result in God using this to help others.
