Letter: Proud to be a new Kelownian

I would like to express my gratitude to all the people who helped me on flight WJ613.

To the editor:

I would like to express my  gratitude  to all the people who helped me Dec. 3 on flight 613 as I experienced a  health issue in the plane that was bringing me back home from Toronto.

I would like to pay a tribute to the WestJet crew from Halifax who not only took care of me but also took care of my little dog who was traveling with me. The WestJet people were amazing, also taking care of my daughter who was waiting for me at the airport. They helped her out with my luggage, the dog and her transportation.

I would like to give a special thanks to Sue who is a retired nurse from Kelowna who ended up interrupting the enjoyment and peacefulness of her flight to give me first-aid.

The ambulance crew were also incredibly efficient and caring as well as the hospital staff.

I was able to return home safe and sound the same night being so happy that, across Canada, people care about each other.

Diane M. Campeau,

A proud new Kelowna resident
