Re: “Raises for RDCK directors being considered” (Mar. 4)
When Aimee Watson was anointed by Andy Shadrack to succeed him as Area D director for the Regional District of Central Kootenay as alternate director she knew the job description and pay. Now for her (and other directors) to want a 20 per cent increase in their pay shows a lack of understanding of basic economics. Any increase equates to a tax increase and any increase in taxes, as well as more regulations, means an increase in rents so there is another blow to affordable housing. Like everyone else, make do with what you have and quit asking taxpayers to pay for your dreams.
