To the editor:
Many frustrated drivers would agree with Harold Redekop (Kelowna Addresses Are Not Displayed, Jan. 14 Capital News)—every property owner should be mandated to install or have installed a reflective civic sign at the entrance to their home or business.
Although many are visible, countless addresses are virtually impossible to see in the daytime, let alone at night.
Surprisingly, even when home owners or businesses are informed how difficult it is to find them, excuses galore are pulled out of the hat.
Everyone who falls into that category should stand outside at night and imagine how difficult it must be for an emergency responders, taxis, friends or delivery men of every ilk to locate them.
Since reflective civic numbers are not a reality at the moment, the more pressing question becomes: Where can I get one?
I would suggest you Google “reflective address signs Kelowna,” call the fire hall or visit city hall to find a supplier. Installing a sign could save your life or the life of a loved one.
