Reforestation makes logging a responsible use of resource

I agree completely that a tree is not just a potential log. Forests are home to thousands of creatures. Jacqueline Sherk writes that it is a good thing humans are removed from the forest because we rarely bring anything good to such places. Logging, and indeed most human use of natural resources, can be portrayed as the ruination of nature, but this is unreasonable. Humans are not an invasive species; we also belong on the planet. Any logging involves displacement of forest creatures to adjacent forest areas, but this is compensated for eventually through reforestation. Well-planned logging accompanied by restocking and good forest management is responsible, sustainable and reasonable.
