Dear Editor,
We would like to offer a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the Ashcroft and area Terry Fox Run this year, and the many years prior.
We feel privileged to live in such a generous community; and we are grateful for our experience with the wonderful Terry Fox Organization.
Today’s (Sept. 16) Run brought out 38 enthusiastic walkers, runners, bikers, dogs and volunteers.
These participants and their generous sponsors helped the Ashcroft Cache Creek Terry Fox Run raise $3,449.50 (including the wonderful gift of $1,000 donated by the Ashcroft and District Health Care Auxiliary).
Special thanks, as always to Gord and Sonya Matthews for their time and efforts in keeping our participants well hydrated.
Thank you to Kris Hardy and her community team for the use of the hotdog machine. And thank you to Judy and Heidi at the Cariboo Jade Shoppe for once again providing a registration/pledge sheet pickup location.
Thank you to Barbara Roden, Ken Alexander and The Journal for loyally supporting this cause, and promoting our very important local event.
And thank you to Jean Norris who helped ensure that our day ran smoothly.
To all our participants and sponsors – we will always be indebted to all of you who give of your time, money and energy – to help find the cure.
And, a final heartfelt thank you to the Terry Fox Organization for allowing us to be part of such and important cause.
This will be the last year we organize the Ashcroft Cache Creek Terry Fox Run.
Jean Norris has stepped forward to become the 2019 Ashcroft Terry Fox Run co-ordinator. We welcome her, and know that you the community will support her in the future, as you have supported us these last eight years.
It’s been a blast. Thank you all!
Deb and Cam Tedford
Ashcroft
