In regards to the story in the Penticton Western News on Sept. 21, retired fire chief speak out on PTSD —terrible highway the Sea to Sky is, still is, people just drive it faster now that it is “improved.”

At the time we only had a small force of full-timers, barely enough to man one truck the rest of us were just volunteers. The town really pushed us to respond to all sorts of emergency’s, that now search and rescue take on and actual paramedics.

We did rock rescues, rafting accidents, floods, forest fires outside our boundaries all the time in addition to the non-stop revolving door of MVA’s. Was too much.

Thank you Pat.
