LETTER: The ferry is our lifeline

LETTER: The ferry is our lifeline

In reply to Mark Lawson from Chicago’s letter re: the Kootenay lake ferry which he enjoys as a tourist.

Suppose he lived on the East Shore and had a medical appointment in Nelson that had taken months to book (because it is with a specialist who makes rare trips to Nelson). Then both the Rogers Pass and the Creston Salmo close because of avalanches the ferry is backed up and he cannot get to his appointment!

Mr.Lawson: the ferry is our lifeline.

On your next trip please rent a houseboat from the Kaslo Shipyard so that you can really enjoy more of the largest ice-free lake in Canada.
