There has been much talk about how unfair the new rules regarding COVID-19 issues are to the snowbirds down south.
While I understand the concern and their tears, quite frankly, they were not smart to go to the U.S.
My wife and I are also snowbirds who have been to Arizona for about 12 years during most of the winter and love it. However, when the government told us we should come home last March we packed up our bags and hit the road, one month ahead of schedule. This year we dearly wanted to go south but there were two factors which made us say “no, no, no.” First, we were told that we should not travel outside the country unless it was essential. Getting a suntan is not essential.

Next, when you look at what the COVID-19 rate is in the U.S., and Arizona being one of the worst, we said “no way Jose, let’s stay home and enjoy the winter for a change.”
Those who chose to go should be made to prove they don’t have the COVID so that is the law. So sad, too bad, just get a test.
