LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Close off Vancouver Island from COVID-19

Island should self-isolate from the mainland, says letter writer

To the editor,

One of the benefits about living on Vancouver Island is, just that, living on an island. In the face of the impending pandemic our greatest protection would be the turning off the ferries and closing down the airports for two weeks.

Some of us who didn’t panic may have to borrow a few rolls of toilet paper from a neighbour who did, but that said, I think we should bump elbows and agree to take advantage of our unique geographic position. People around the world dream about vacationing on our beautiful Island. I don’t know about you but I could use a good vacay-stay.
