I read in this week’s Chronicle that public works is having a celebration on May 19, free hot dogs and pop.
Maybe they should sell the hot dogs and all the proceeds from the sale go towards fixing some of the huge pot holes in front of the public works yard.
With a tax increase for residents they seem to be getting less.
Some streets have a sidewalk on both sides of the street with trees and Christmas lights up the center, other streets have no sidewalks. The street cleaner has a designated route. I’ve been here 12 years, never been up my street.
Truck loads of flowers and hanging baskets line First Avenue, sure it looks great, but nobody of sound mind would put flowers and a swing set in their yard before putting the roof on their house, would they?
There is more to our wonderful town than First Avenue. Months are spent beautifying downtown, what about the maintenance of the rest of town? Pot holes, storm drains plugged, road shoulders need grading, to list a few things. General maintenance of the whole town should be a priority.
