LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Fossil fuels doom B.C. to hellfire

Mankind is stuck in a self-destruct mode, says letter writer

To the editor,

Too many politicians and greed-motivated oil corporations have been spending too much time asleep at the switch. When it comes to protecting our planet from inevitable destruction by man-made pollution, mankind is quickly losing the battle against pollution by being stuck too long in a self-destruct mode.

Premiers Rachel Notley and John Horgan have the chance of a lifetime to achieve what no other government has ever done. The two of them could very well get together instead of fighting one another and speed up the transition of switching over to clean energy instead of filthy polluted energy.

What’s the matter with dismantling the old and replacing it with the new at the same time? All kinds of new jobs would be created, so why are they always trying to convince us that too many jobs would be lost in the transition?

Food for thought: what do you advocates of filthy fuel think would happen to your pipelines and storage tanks when we have this inevitable earthquake that so many feel fearful of? If you don’t know, try to imagine it; there will be ruptured oil and natural gas pipelines and power lines everywhere. This combination would cause the greatest inferno that one could ever imagine, this side of hell. Oil and natural gas would be spewing out uncontrollably while the broken power lines would be dancing and sparking and igniting everything flammable.

This could never happen with clean energy which is not flammable.
