LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Good grades have value for students

Kids should be accountable and rewarded for their efforts, says letter writer

To the editor,

Re: Schools placing too much emphasis on reflection, Letters, July 3.

Bravo to the Grade 9 student for the letter she wrote about the education system and the school board placing too much emphasis on reflection – a well-written letter.

Maybe it is time the school board themselves reflect on the changes that are being integrated into schools and take note of how this is affecting our children. Kids should be accountable and rewarded for their efforts and I believe the A, B, C system gives them more confidence than ‘how did that make you feel?’
