Editor, The Gazette:
Regarding electronic voting versus polling clerk voting.
Are we as a community going to outsource our elections to an expensive and not yet proven hack-proof device (remember even Canada Revenue Agency had some surprises this spring?) or are we going to support our community, leave the jobs within the community (for the polling clerks), thus enriching the economy, even if this does happen to cost a bit more?
Mincing a few dollars here, but dangerously expansive with other projects?
Keep the jobs in people’s hands. Enough of sacrificing community well-being to the corporate grind.
