Re: Union favours each teacher making choice about vaccines, Sept 1.
If teachers are to be given the choice about whether they will or won’t be vaccinated (and still be allowed in contact with students if they haven’t been), then I would expect parents to be given the right to know if their child’s teacher has been vaccinated, and be entitled to demand their child be put in another class if not.
Of anyone, I would expect teachers to be as concerned for the welfare of their students as they are for their own opinions and biases. And believe that teachers’ unions and school boards in our province should be strongly advocating for 100 per cent vaccination of all teachers and school-based staff.
