On Friday, Nov. 18 at approximately 7:35 a.m., my vehicle just stopped right on the railroad tracks in Matsqui along Harris Road.
Needless to say, this is one of those “you have got to be kidding” moments.
The only thing that could have made the situation more horrific would have been to see a train in the distance.
The situation was also difficult as this is heavy commuter time and I could not freely back my vehicle up off the tracks.
Although I had the four signals going to indicate I was in a non-functioning vehicle, everyone cautiously went around me and I could not find an opening to push my car back, or the strength to do it on my own.
Luckily for me, a young woman, “Linda,” stopped and aided me to move the car off the track and finally another gentleman, “Gunther,” assisted us further to help move it off the road.
And while my car did officially die at that moment, I remained safe in thanks to the two people, Linda and Gunther, who came to aid me.
A special shout out to both of you. Thank you so much.
It would have left me feeling very much alone and nervous if no one had stopped to assist.
Thank you again.
