Have you noticed during April, the lovely lighted red Tulip that stands proudly overlooking our city from Landmark Tower 2, 1708 Dolphin Avenue, in Kelowna?
We wish to thank Landmark Centre management for displaying this red tulip.
April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month and the tulip is our symbol.
There are 11,000 people in B.C living with this chronic disease. There is considerable breakthrough research of the brain and neurological diseases to give us encouragement and hope.
“You are not alone” is the motto and theme of the Parkinson Society of British Columbia. Partners in Parkinson’s is the local support group here in Kelowna that meets on the first Thursday of every month and is open to anyone who may want to attend.
The local caregivers group meets on the fourth Friday of each month.
Once a year, in September, we hold our annual Superwalk to raise funds for critical research and provide other help and hope.
