To the editor:
This is in concern of the Tourism Centre that is planned for the city park:
I myself do not agree with building a tourism centre in City Park and taking that beautiful piece of land and making more roads, parking, etc., in the park, but I do have a suggestion that I don’t know if anyone has ever considered or thought of.
I do not know what is happening with the Fintry Queen, but I am wondering if anyone has ever thought about maybe putting it in the city park as a permanent structure, as they do with the Paddlewheeler in Penticton.
It could be made into an information/tourism bureau and also have a small coffee/tea restaurant inside it.
We would be saving a piece of heritage that is very valuable to Kelowna along with making it a very attractive piece in or near the city park.
I am sure it would be enjoyed by everyone and anyone who would come to our city, plus by our own community.
