Letter: West Kelowna power grid still in the 1930s

When are the high paid ‘plug operators’ going to wake up. This is almost 2015, not 1934.

To the editor:

It has happened again. Christy Clark forgot to plug us in again, or somebody forgot to turn on the switch.

This time it was almost eight hours before that person came to and plugged in West Kelowna.

When are the high paid ‘plug operators’ going to wake up. This is almost 2015, not 1934.

We have been complaining about our horse and buggy power supply. Let’s get rid of the ‘plug operators’ and get something done to fix the situation.

There is no excuse—now we pay a premium price for second rate power.  We were better off when we had gas mantle lamps. Maybe B.C. Hydro should get a supply of them ready for the next ‘failure.’

We were told that they did not know what caused the failure. Let’s get something done now before we really get a problem—as if we don’t already have one.

Ron Barnard,

West Kelowna
