I have been following the Stotan Falls/Park discussion for the past several months. After reading Mr Presley’s letter I have to say, not only do I agree with him but he is spot on. I must admit he wrote a much better than I could’ve , thanks Murray. As an Alderman for the town of Comox during the 1970s, George Piercey was Mayor, we were presented with the possibility that Seal Bay was going to be divvied up for various reasons and uses, I along with other members of that council rigorously campaigned against this and today we still have a beautiful piece of property for the enjoyment of the citizens of the Comox Valley.
My question is why are the municipal and regional politicians so bent on not grabbing the offer of the company as Murray mentioned. Parks and bare land are disappearing at too great a rate. It seems to me the lot of today’s politicians is slightly skewed, hey folks they are not making any more ground to save for the future. This purchase would be much more valuable for dollars spent than the dollars spent erecting the Regional District monolith in the heart of Courtenay.
