LETTER: Winter’s almost here, time to volunteer at Boundary Community Food Bank

Winter is almost here, time to volunteer at the Boundary Community Food Bank and support your community.

Editor:

Winter is almost upon us, a good time to get out, volunteer at the Boundary Community Food Bank and enjoy the company of others like you while supporting your community.

We need fit and able people to help us help the less fortunate people of the Boundary.

Contributing as little as three hours a month will go a long way in helping us feed the hungry in the Boundary.

In Canada 93,000 people (38 per cent of these are children) use the food bank every month. Locally we provide food to an average of 230 people each month.

We are about to celebrate our first year in our new home, a bright and large facility located kitty corner from the former Grand Forks Hotel.

We offer full training in a friendly and supportive environment. As your neighbours we’d be pleased to see you and as a resident of Grand Forks, it will feel good to contribute.

For more information give us a call at 250-442-2800 or drop by on Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
