Editor: I just returned from a very moving attendance at the Fort Langley cenotaph Remembrance Day service.
I was overwhelmed by it all — the huge crowds, so silent and respectful, the hordes of little children from various groups who stood so still through the ceremony and sang O Canada with gusto, to the excellent organization of the remembrances by the Fort Langley Remembrance Day committee and the Fort Langley Lions Club. It was truly a wonderful event.
I especially loved coming home and reading Troy Landreville’s well written story (the Times, Nov. 9) about the founders of this event and how it all started.
I knew Gordon Gillard as my mother’s cousin and spoke many times with him about this story.
