To the Editor,
Re: Layton remembered for passion, integrity, Letters, Aug. 30.
I would like to say there is a story told that when Napoleon was invading Russia, he had read a poem or a play and said to his aid, “I would rather have written that poem or play than to conquer Russia.”
I never tried to conquer Russia, but I would have rather written that letter than to have won a lottery. The writer has my sincere compliments on so eloquently expressing my sentiments and I am sure those of many other Canadians. Thank you.
