On behalf of my mother, Stella Barber, a White Rock senior who recently celebrated her 90th birthday, I would like to express my gratitude to the Good Samaritans who came to her assistance when she fell during a recent walk near her home on Foster Street.
In particular, my mother would like to thank the woman who was walking her dog – a black terrier with a red collar – who was very attentive and waited with her until the ambulance arrived.
It is wonderful to know that the White Rock community is home to such caring people.
On behalf of Stella, thank you to all.

A hundred-thousand thanks to Joe and the two young ladies – one of whom was to be giving birth two days later – who assisted me on Saturday morning, June 4, when I fell at Oxford/Marine.
Your kindness in phoning for the ambulance, the stories we shared and staying with me was ‘above and beyond’.
My thanks, too, to the many, many drivers who also stopped to offer help; later, at Peace Arch Hospital emergency, the care and kindness of the team – Amy, Lisa, Matt, to name only a few – and later Helen, the driver of the hospital transfer ambulance who saw me to my door, and for the laughs we shared.
The broken bone will heal and the discomfort fade, but the incredible kindness from so many will remain an everlasting memory.
