LETTERS: A little spring cleaning

Let’s make a concerted effort to clean up this place we call home

Spring is here and with that comes the ugly truth.

While we have all been bundled up and scurrying from place to place in the rain not looking around much, the trash has taken a foothold along the highways and roadways in Sooke.

If every homeowner went to the front and back of their property and picked up the litter, Sooke would certainly look better. They could even venture so far as the other side of the road where there may not be homes. Unfortunately, there are certain roads that seem to attract a lot of litter, where dogs and bears have spread trash bags.

Let’s make a concerted effort to clean up this place we call home. It only takes a few minutes and the results are immediate.

Now if the District of Sooke were to pick up bags of litter left along the roads, that would encourage people to clean up this town. It is such a beautiful place and a shame when litter spoils it. Let’s show some pride in our neighbourhoods.
